The mechanical part of wire cutting machine tool is the foundation, and its accuracy directly affects the working accuracy of the machine tool, as well as the full play of electrical performance. The mechanical system consists of machine tool bed, coordinate worktable, wire transport mechanism, wire frame mechanism, taper mechanism, lubrication system, etc. The bed of a machine tool is usually a box type structure, which provides an installation platform for various components and is closely related to the accuracy of the machine tool. Coordinate workbenches are usually composed of cross drag plates, rolling guides, screw motion pairs, gear transmission mechanisms, and other parts. It mainly involves the relative motion between the electrode wire and the workpiece to complete the machining process. The wire transport mechanism is composed of a wire storage cylinder, an electric motor, a gear pair, a transmission mechanism, a reversing device, and insulation components. The electric motor and the wire storage cylinder are connected and rotated by a shaft to drive the electrode wires to move at a certain linear speed and neatly arrange the electrode wires on the wire storage cylinder. The cable rack is divided into single column cantilever and double column gantry types. The single column cantilever is divided into upper and lower arms, with the lower arm generally fixed and the upper arm movable up and down. The guide wheel is installed on the wire frame to support the motor wire. The taper mechanism can be divided into swing type and cross drag type structures. Swing type is achieved by rotating the upper and lower arms through a lever, and is generally used in large taper machines. The cross drag type is achieved by moving the electrode wire to expand and contract, and is generally suitable for small cone machines. The lubrication system is used to alleviate mechanical wear, improve mechanical efficiency, and reduce power loss. It can play a role in cooling, corrosion inhibition, vibration absorption, and noise reduction.

The electrical part includes machine tool circuits, pulse power supplies, drive power supplies, and control systems. The machine tool circuit mainly controls the operation of the wire transport motor and the working fluid pump, enabling the electrode wire to continuously cut the workpiece. The pulse power supply provides spark discharge energy between the electrode wire and the workpiece for cutting the workpiece. The driving power supply, also known as the driving circuit, consists of a pulse distributor, power amplifier circuit, power supply circuit, preamplifier circuit, and other control circuits. It is a dedicated power supply that provides power to the stepper motor, used to control the stepper motor. The control system mainly controls the movement of the worktable trailer (trajectory control) and the discharge of the pulse power supply (machining control).
Working fluid system
The working fluid system generally consists of a working fluid tank, a working fluid pump, an inlet pipe, a return pipe, a flow control valve, a filter screen cover, etc. The main function is to concentrate discharge energy, carry away discharge heat to cool electrode wires and workpieces, and eliminate erosion products.
